The survey about “Music theory in music lessons in secondary schools of Lower Saxony†examines an issue of high importance for music pedagogy. An abundance of data is provided and a didactic concept is introduced. This review criticizes some of the conclusions drawn from the empirical data as well as some presuppositions of the didactic concept.
