This article deals with Michael Ahlers’s book „Schnittstellenprobleme im Musikunterricht. Fachhistorische und empirische Untersuchung zum Einsatz und zur Ergonomie von Sequenzerprogrammen im Musikunterricht.“ – „Interface Problems inMusic Education in School. A Historical and Empirical Studyof Ergonomics ofSequencer-Software in Music Education“. The author analyses student’s user problems when using musical sequencer-software for »typical« tasks. He generatedthese tasks from a data pool of relevant publications. The sample consists of students havingpositive attitudes towards computers and who frequently use computers. They wereselected through cluster analysis of questionnaire data collected beforehand. In the mainstudy the subjects were tested individually when solving the tasks and filmedby a video device.
